Autumn Leaves and Awesome Reads

Here it is. The book you’ve all been waiting for. Clayton freaking Moore.

It is published. It is live. It is available in paperback and ebook.

I got my first look at the paperbacks today and they are sexy. The glossy cover really pops. It’s surreal to hold one in my hand and appreciate that I made this. It represents years of effort and the culmination of a lifelong dream.

There are millions of books out there, but this one is mine. I wrote it. I published it. That’s my name on the cover. It’s heady stuff. I made some business cards with a QR code that links directly to the Amazon page. I plan to drop them from a blimp over the Super Bowl. (Just kidding.)

Seriously though, I’m really excited about how far it’s come. The book has been rolling for a few weeks, but I’ve avoided promoting it here because I wanted to get some organic sales outside my circle. I’ve been running Facebook ads and newsletter promotions and Kindle deals. I’ve sold about 200 copies so far. Not bad!

The coolest thing is the early reviews. I have fourteen ratings for an average of 4.5 stars. Those are fourteen strangers who read my story and gave it (mostly) top marks. If that’s any indication of the book’s quality, it’s going to do well.

Now for a quick aside: I am loving this autumn weather. It’s my first fall in years and I’ve been savoring every breezy day. The leaves are gorgeous. My kids have had a blast. We carved a pumpkin this week.

Soon it will be snowy winter and I’m looking forward to that too. I may eat those words in a few months, but after living in the tropics for a while it’s great to go through seasons again. Especially with two kids who are experiencing everything for the first time.

Anyway, there you have it. My novel. My baby. It’s out there and you should read it. Tell your friends. Tell your social media. Tell your parents and your partners and your pets. (There’s a dog in the book!)

Then when you’re done: Tell me what you think. Did you like it? Did you hate it? Who was your favorite character? What was your favorite scene? You can email me anytime at eric.s.hoffman.writer@gmail.com, or just head over my Contact Page and leave a message.

I don’t know where all this will take me. My mentality is to get in front of enough people and good things will happen. I’ve started tooling around with a second book, and surely that will come down the pipe someday.

Until then… Go Guardians!
